CCRDA Fall Workshops 2021 has ended
Based on member feedback, this year’s Fall Workshops are focused on very practical learning opportunities, with our time book-ended by space for inspiration and spiritual formation.

We are excited to be featuring Cheryl Bear and Sara Williamson-Bynoe for our opening and closing plenary sessions focused on spiritual formation. We are also happy to highlight some of the amazing expertise from right within our own Preferred Partner Network. There are a great variety of topics to be explored and something for almost everybody to join in learning. And because they are Preferred Partners, you know it’s going to be good!

Glad to have you join us as we learn together!

Improving the Stories We Tell: A Deeper Dive

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Feedback form is now closed.
This workshop is a continuation of the webinar on storytelling that was run in May 2021 and will be a deeper dive into the ideas and concepts that can be implemented into your resource and story gathering practices. This workshop will help the audience better understand how to tell stories by walking through the elements that make compelling narrative and narrative archs. This workshop will help attendees set themselves up for successful story gathering experiences by highlighting items to look for when sourcing a story, understanding what items need to be in place before the story gathering begins, how to make sure the correct information is sourced and the basic structure of a good story. This will be done by looking at examples of stories told through photography, video and written content.

In addition, we will discuss basic photography, videography and interview tips and tricks and the ATTACK theory, which stands for Access, Trust, Time, Accountability, Creativity and Knowledge, which gives you concepts to keep in mind when gathering resources and stories in the field or from your backyard.
Telling a good story is not an easy task, but as you begin to understand what drives people to listen, watch and hear the story you want to tell you will be better equipped to collect compelling resources that connect with your audience.
